Spongy Tissues in Alphonso Mangoes

The Alphonso mangoes have a natural deformity of the presence of spongy tissues. These deflects develop only when the mango is ripe and do not show up in all the extensive quality checks we perform on the mangoes when they are packed raw. As a buyer of Alphonso mangoes you carry an inherit risk that some or all of your mangoes may have small or large defects. You can be rest assured that this is not intentional, there was no way for us to mitigate this and you are in the same boat as all authentic and naturally ripened Alphonso lovers. 

If your mango has a spongy tissue, then there is nothing to worry. Your mango is not bad. The spongy tissue part has incorrectly ripened. Leaving that part aside, the remaining mango is perfectly safe to eat and enjoy.
